Pedals, Pine Trees, and Pszczyna: A Spring Morning Ride Through the Polish Countryside

There’s something wonderfully indulgent about taking a midweek break, hopping on a bike, and heading off into the spring sunshine. This Wednesday morning, with the air crisp and the skies clear, I set off on a solo ride to one of my favourite spots—Pszczyna.
It turned out to be a 23-kilometre journey, completed in 1 hour and 24 minutes. I cruised along at a steady average speed of 16 km/h, though I had a brief “Tour de France” moment, hitting a max of 34 km/h—thank you, downhill stretch and tailwind!
The route itself felt like a gift from the season: budding trees, the scent of fresh grass, and fields just starting to shrug off their winter greys in favour of spring’s greens and yellows. Birds were in full chorus, and the countryside felt very much alive and awake, just like I was hoping to feel by the end of the ride.
As always, Pszczyna didn’t disappoint. The historic charm, cobblestone streets, and peaceful vibe gave me the perfect pause before the return journey. I didn’t stay long—just enough to catch my breath, take in the surroundings, and mark a few mental notes for future photo ops.
Riding in the middle of the week, while most people are still sipping coffee behind their desks, brings a special kind of peace. It’s a reminder that even in the routine, there’s space for a little escape, a little adventure.
Here’s to more sunny mornings, strong legs, and the simple joy of a good bike ride.

Until next time,
