Some places demand your attention, and places like La Venaria Reale capture your imagination entirely.
Our visit to La Venaria Reale, just outside Turin, was a gentle step back in time, without ever going inside.
We spent the afternoon exploring the palace’s magnificent exterior and gardens. The scale and symmetry were awe-inspiring, with grand facades, sweeping courtyards, and formal landscapes that offered a sense of Italy’s royal elegance.
But the authentic charm lay just beyond the palace grounds.
We walked through Venaria and found quiet side streets and hidden corners that felt like snapshots of a simpler, slower life. Every turn offered something beautiful and unassuming: cobbled lanes, pastel walls, sunlit shutters. It was where you could pause, breathe, and feel the story of the place in the stone beneath your feet.
With cameras in hand, we captured what we could—no drone was needed—just the joy of seeing, walking, and sharing a lovely day with good friends.
